SINFUL COLORS SWATCHES (REQUESTED BLOG POST)

Ok everyone, this was a requested blog. I raved about these polishes after I got them during the walgreens' 99 cent sale. As a "high end" nail polish type of girl, I was hesitant to try them, but I love them!! I have swatched them on to my circle boards and numbered them so that you can see them all and if you are interested in how a particular shade looks you can find the name of the color and get to your nearest sinful colors retailer and get it! I will be doing an OPI swatch blog soon as well. I am currently going through my OPI polishes and getting rid of old stuff and things I just really don't ever ever use so once I downsize and organize my OPI collection I will do a blog post on those swatches! =] Here are the shades and swatches of my sinful colors collection:

$1 OPI nail polish DUPES?!?!?!?

I love OPI nail polish. Who doesn't right? What I don't like is the fact that I pay at least $40 every time I go to ulta to a few bottles or make an order online for OPI polishes. I've been buying OPI since I was in 10th grade. That's 7 years of paying $8.00 for bottles of nail polishes! YIKES! Recently I started experimenting and trying out cheaper brands just to see what I could find. I found a little gold mine known as....SINFUL COLORS! This week walgreens had their sinful colors nail polishes priced at just 99 cents so I thought "hey...good time to invest in some bottles and try it out!" $23 later and with the use of 2 great coupons....I have the entire collection of sinful colors available at my walgreens. Since I bought the sinful colors polishes I have not only realized that I have found a wonderful quality nail polish at a very decent price (even regularly they are still only $1.99), but I also discovered quite a few dupes for OPI polishes! What does this all mean? This means that I have found 99 cent nail polishes that are identical to $8.00 nail polishes! Here are pictures of some OPI polishes next to their identical sinful colors version:
SC: easy going
OPI: sweetheart

SC: boom boom
OPI: don't know...beets me

SC: Bali mist
OPI: Significant other color

SC: Cloud 9
OPI: totally tangerine
(there is just a touch more shimmer in the OPI version in the bottle, but the color and finish comes off extremely close to identical once applied to your nails.)

SC: thimbleberry
OPI: mod-ern girl
(this sinful colors polish is also very similar to nicole alert or cajun shrimp from OPI. It is only slightly off)

Have you EOSed your lips yet? & FOTD!

I just can't stop talking about these little things!! I wrote about them briefly in another blog, but wanted to go into more depth since I have been using them now for nearly 2 months. I have recently been using the lemon one as it has SPF in it. I do a lot of walking, jogging, and playing with my little guy outside, and this is an item I use daily and more than once daily. They are great for not only making your lips smooth, and with the lemon one, protecting them from the sun. They are amazing as a lip base before lipstick and lipliner! I keep an extra on on my nightstand as well for those nights when I wake up and feel a little chapped! I can't get over how great they are and how cute and fun they look! The shape also adds to the appeal for me. When they are loose in my purse, also known as the black hole, I can easily feel around and find them. With the more traditional shape of chapsticks, that is not the case. Just for in depth info, here's a little more info taken from the eos (evolution of smooth) website:

  • Long-lasting moisture
  • Shea butter & vitamin E
  • Smoothes on clear
  • New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips
  • Twist-off top
  • Gluten-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Petrolatum-free
  • Phthalate-free
"eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth."

I find my eos products at my local walgreens. However, you can find them online as well! Here's the link to find out where:

They also have shaving creams, stick form lip balm, and lotions available for purchase! HAPPY SHOPPING! ;-}

Swatches of My favorite China Glazes polishes & my opinions on the formula, finish, etc.

I am fairly new to this brand. I just into it in the last year or two. I have been mainly an OPI/ESSIE girl since probably my junior year of highschool. I visited my aunt's salon in mississippi the summer before my junior year and she introduced me to OPI. So I've been hooked on it ever since! However, I have acquired 15 polishes by china glaze now and have at least 5 or 6 that I feel my collection couldn't do without!! I will put a small blurb about each shade under it's set of swatch pictures! Happy reading/viewing!

Mediterranean Charm is a beautiful red with a coral sort of tint to it. It's similar to OPI's Cajun Shrimp. The Finish is glossy, but personally I would add a top coat. On my fingers in these pictures I have only a base  coat and 1 coat of the china glaze polish on. I am wearing no top coat. I wanted to give you all a good idea of how it goes on in just one coat with nothing on top. 1st photo is with flash, second is without.
For Audrey is by far my favorite nail polish shade of all time of any brand. I am so crazy about this shade, that when it came out I bought 10 bottles of it to insure that I would never run out =] I'm a little obnoxious with anything related to audrey hepburn or to tiffany's. It is a true tiffany blue. It's beautiful. I have heard there are dupes out there for it. So if you aren't necessarily crazy about it, you could get a dupe from sephora by opi or a similar shade from sinful colors. The finish on this is glossy as well and again I have 1 coat of the polish applied on top of a clear base coat, and I am wearing no top coat. 1st picture was taken with no flash and the 2nd was taken with flash.
Now this is a fun color!! Pink Voltage is a bright neon pink. I like this color quite a bit. It is one of my favorites china glaze carries. However, it is not super unique. The shade of the color is almost an exact dupe of Essie's Flirty Fuchsia. What makes the china glaze shade different is the iridescent-like sheen to it. I enjoy this one a lot. Like most neon polish, due to the formula that goes into make a bright neon color, it dries super matte. I don't mean matte in the way that Zoya's matte velvet is. This one dries matte and not as opaque or uniform as the Zoya matte formula. It can come off streaky when not applied carefully. Top picture was taken without a flash and second was taken with. Two great inexpensive dupes for this is Neon pink from pro colors nail polish (available at sally's) and Fusion Neon from sinful colors (available at walgreens). Again, I applied a clear base coat and one coat of the polish with no top coat.

In the lime light is another fun bright neon color. This one, as far as I'm concerned, is truly unique to china glaze. It is a great sort of neon version of kelly green.  It again, like most neon polish, due to the formula that goes into make a bright neon color, it dries super matte. It can also be streaky and not very opaque when not carefully applied. 1st picture=with flash. 2nd picture=without flash. Again, I applied a clear base coat and one coat of the polish with no top coat.
Sky high top is probably one of the coolest colors with a great finish to it! It goes on nicely, dries shiny, and seriously, all you need is one coat!! It's a true blue color, and in my opinion, is unique. 1st picture=without flash 2nd picture=with flash. Again, I applied a clear base coat and one coat of the polish with no top coat.
Flyin high is a cool turquoise color. I wouldn't necessarily say that it is completely unique to the china glaze brand. I have seen dupes here and there. However, the finish is nice, the opacity is unbeatable, and the formula itself is nice and smooth. 1st picture=no flash & 2nd picture=with flash. Again, I applied a clear base coat and one coat of the polish with no top coat.
